Storm in a Teacup, Rum & Tea
Rum & Tea
Definitely give this one a go! A sure favourite of ours during the summer months.
A boozy iced tea with Cornish Spiced Rum is definitely a grand idea on those hot summer days!
Rum and tea once shared galleons, why not a glass!
Either bought iced tea or make it yourself. The hands-on time for making iced tea is quick: most of the time involved is waiting! Making the tea takes about 20 minutes in total. You'll then need to allow two hours for it to chill.
Here are the basic steps of how to make iced tea at home:
- Bring 1 liter of water to simmer. Add 6 tea bags and turn off the heat. Steep for 5 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags. Add 1 liter of cool water and add the juice of two lemons and sugar or honey to taste.
- Transfer to a jug and allow it to chill for two hours.
Grab a tall glass and fill it with ice, 60ml Cornish spiced rum and top it up with your ice tea and add lemon or lime wedges for garnish.
The beauty of using our spiced honey rum for this cocktail is that the spices in our honey rum add beautifully to the tea!
Rum & tea makes the perfect storm in a teacup.
